Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 Vanilla Extract teaspoons
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Salt teaspoon
  • Royal Icing As needed
  • Food Coloring Red, pink, white
  • Sprinkles and Edible Glitter For decoration

Instructions
 

Cream Butter and Sugar:

  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Incorporate Egg and Vanilla:

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until fully integrated.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.

Chill the Dough:

  • Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Roll and Cut Cookies:

  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface and use cookie cutters to cut into shapes.

Bake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 8-10 minutes.

Decorate:

  • Allow cookies to cool completely before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles.

Notes

  • Dough can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for a month.
  • For best results, ensure cookies are completely cooled before decorating.
